Our legacy…

We got Wiltshire’s Children’s Services to an “Outstanding” Ofsted rating in 2024!

In 2023/24 we invested an EXTRA £22m into Wiltshire’s roads at no extra cost to taxpayers.

How are we different?

Reform

Plans for Wiltshire’s Housing

We reduced our housing targets by 8,000 to protect our communities and countryside from overdevelopment

Liberal Democrats want to increase house building by 40%, putting strain on our infrastructure and destroying our green fields

Reform’s manifesto says they will “unleash housebuilding” which risks losing control of housebuilders, allowing them to build over Wiltshire’s countryside

Policy on solar farms and wind turbines

We’ve made firm commitments to fight any solar farm proposal on quality agricultural land or important landscape

Liberal Democrats disagree with us and want to see solar farms, wind turbines and batteries built across Wiltshire

Reform wants to go to the extreme and scrap net-zero ambitions ignoring the sensible middle ground which will give the UK energy independence

Transport and travel

We introduced a motion to block any policy that demonises car users and forces them out of their private vehicles

Liberal Democrats voted against our motion to protect the motorist; they want to force you out of your petrol or diesel car

Reform wants to divert money to coastal regions, the north, Wales and the Midlands to improve rail infrastructure, ignoring Wiltshire!

Building Community Infrastructure

We continued to invest in our leisure centres and libraries

Unlike Liberal Democrat controlled Somerset or Labour controlled Swindon councils who made huge budget cuts to services, here in Wiltshire the Conservative run council invested in facilities for residents.

Improving our roads

We invested an EXTRA £22m into our roads

Our sound financial management across Wiltshire Council meant that we could afford to reinvest money into road resurfacing, safety improvements and flood prevention.

Protecting the environment

We helped 1,400 Wiltshire homeowners lower their bills with solar installations

Our focus on supporting Wiltshire residents to make small changes to help the environment put money back in their pockets. Furthermore, our decarbonisation of Wiltshire Council properties is saving over £2million each year which can be reinvested into Wiltshire for you.
