Born in Trowbridge quite some time ago, I have lived in West Wiltshire all my life. Went to school in Somerset and Norfolk, then read Modern Languages at Keble College, Oxford. Have worked as a school-teacher, in publishing, and for the Council of Europe. That led me on to being the Vote-Leave Co-ordinator for South West Wiltshire and Frome in 2016.
I was the West Wilts district councillor for the Mid Wylye Valley from 1995 to 2009 (as an independent) and was also a county councillor when Wiltshire Council was formed in 2009 by merging all our districts with the old county council. Since then, I have represented the Wylye Valley in County Hall. I joined the Conservatives in 2013.
Interests: mainly gardening and book-collecting. I was Chairman of the Wiltshire Victoria County History for twelve years, have made translations from Latin for the Wiltshire Record Society, was a Governor of Urchfont Manor College, and am now a Trustee of the Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust.
