I was delighted to have been elected to represent Fovant and Chalke Valley in 2021, and I am working hard to ensure to make Fovant and Chalke Valley an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. Since then, I have delivered real results in my four key priority areas:
1. Investing in our villages
We’ve secured over £15,000 for new playgrounds in Barford St Martin and Broad Chalke, almost £15,000 in grants for the Chalke Valley Sports Centre, and £5,000 for Fovant Youth Club. We’ve secured funding for Village Hall improvements in Burcombe, Fovant, Berwick St John and much more.
2. Tackling speeding and road safety
We campaigned for and received Wiltshire Council funding to buy and install new speed indicator devices in Fovant, Barford St Martin and Berwick St John, alongside new road signage in Sutton Mandeville and Berwick St John. More road lining has been delivered, and the new 20mph limit in Ansty should be in place by the summer.
3. Supporting our communities
I have raised funds to support community groups across the area, and ensured that Wiltshire Council continued to provide funding for the Cranborne Chase NL. We raised funds for the warm space in Fovant, the Summer Concert in Sutton Mandeville, the new Community Cinema in Broad Chalke, and the Alabare Development Centre in Barford, as well as the Chalke Valley and Barford St Martin Fetes.
4. Supporting farmers and the rural economy
I brought a motion to Wiltshire Council to support Wiltshire meat, dairy, and arable farmers, and to commit the council to buy local, which passed unanimously. I’ve also worked to expand the Council’s Explore Wiltshire programme to Tisbury and South West Wiltshire, and secured funding for the Fovant Badges Society and other local organisations.
I hope that, in May 2025, residents of across the fifteen villages in my division will give me the opportunity to continue to represent them.
